Safety through Close circuit TV and self monitored In house camera.

Considerations:

Camera brand choice
Access to Internet (Yes or No)
With Access to Internet
POE with or without NVR
Without Access to Internet
Analog camera with DVR

A camera can be set up solo or as multiple units to monitor different section of any given area. The technology available to make such happen include Digital video recorder(DVR), and network video recorder(NVR). The choice of technology use will depend on many factors. Among this factors are the distance of the installed camera to the monitor room, budget for the installation, the form of activities in the environment, and expected camera life.

NVR is a network with video recorder, camera can connect with it directly using POE or through POE (power over Ethernet cables) connected to POE switch that receives multiple POE cable then to the NVR.

NVR is the key to local video monitoring, it allows owner to see live feeds and playback. It may be configured for push notification, which allow owners to monitor their property while on the go or away. With the use of NVR, a monitor is needed with cable connection between the monitor and NVR.

If the preferred system is computer based, a software base replica of NVR could be used. In such situation Blue iris is a software that could be downloaded and use like NVR for video monitoring.

Other camera types

IP camera – this could be a POE or WiFi enabled camera with a power adapter.

BNC CAMERA – is an older type of connection that allow for more resilient transmission, and it can be use for camera CCTV set up in a very large environment. The distance limitation with the IP and POE camera is resolved by switching to a camera system set up with BNC

With the use of BNC cable, camera use will likely be analog and a DVR digital video recorder will be connected with the camera using BNC connector to a coaxial cables. The Video recording will now be available in digital forms.

It is very important to Note that other connectors may use coaxial cable, for example a coaxial cable may be assembled with an F connector. F connector set up is used for video and satellite TV system. BNC connector on a coaxial cable is for analog signal detection and use for applications in test equipment, amateur radio, and surveillance systems.

Depending on the environment, such as industrial and very demanding environment, the types of cable use for video or audio transmission will be different. Examples of other cables that may be used include Ethernet cable, cat cable, dc connector, TNC and N type, coaxial Siamese, and so on. The Design of any CCTV has to take into consideration:

The purpose and need to be met

environment

expected usage

desire installation speed

prefer installation type, -lite(exposed wire all through), silver(protection for wiring outside up to camera box, gold(complete protection outside all the way to the camera box
